Rupert is a qualified coach, trainer and learning consultant. He is a writer, speaker and commentator on all aspects of business communication and business etiquette and he has worked globally with a huge number of blue chip companies as well as many UHNW individuals.
He is qualified as a performance coach and is accredited by the British Psychology Society in the application and interpretation of psychometric tools. He is accredited as a user of Belbin (Team roles) Roche Martin (Emotional Capital Report) and Identity (Personality Reports). He has also trained and qualified as a Neuro Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner.
He has a great deal of experience designing, delivering and managing learning programmes of every scale and scope from one off workshops to large scale, multi discipline projects. He is qualified in Systems Approach to Learning and has applied this knowledge to technical and leadership learning programmes.
He is also a hugely experienced communication coach and his work has helped business leaders sell their vision and he has helped to create and coach business pitches that have resulted in sales worth many millions. He has helped many people in high profile roles with confidence and personal impact.
His published writing credits include Debrett’s Guide to Business Etiquette as well as a number of periodicals including City AM and Luxury Briefing. As a speaker and commentator he is a regular on news channels including BBC radio and TV, Sky TV and Bloomberg. He has also performed live on a BBC radio comedy show.
Rupert spent the first part of his career in the British Army. He graduated from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and he served on operations around the world. His roles have included frontline leadership in many of the world’s trouble spots. He has also undertaken roles acting as a negotiator, strategist and diplomat at senior political levels.
When not working Rupert loves doing anything that gets him outdoors. He enjoys skiing (he is a qualified instructor) and has an abiding love of the British countryside and all that it has to offer.
Feng Sammy Gao
Sammy was born in Tientsin, China and moved to the UK for his schooling in his adolescence. He subsequently attended The London School of Economics where he obtained a BSc in Economics. He then moved to Paris where he enrolled at the École Superpérieure de Commerce de Paris to complete an MSc in Marketing and Creativity. Sammy has worked in different sectors including luxury retail, wine, culture and tourism development throughout China and Europe, with household names including Fortnum and Mason, Metro AG and UNWTO.
Sammy is passionate about the benefits of training and coaching to help everyone. He has worked as the Asia Ambassador for renowned publishing and coaching company Debrett's and leads on the development and delivery of their Asia projects. He is an authority business etiquette and in particular Sino-British cultural exchange. He is equally clear that coaching is for the young and it can empower the rising generation. He has recently completed the envisioning and design of the Debrett's Learning Essentials Programme. This highly impactful programme employs an innovative intergenerational and cross generational learning approach.
Sammy is also inspired by architecture and the possibilities of heritage regeneration. He has a close relationship with the Royal Institute of British Architects where he works to foster cross cultural collaboration between the British and Chinese architectural communities. He is also involved with Design a Sustainable Tomorrow (DaST). This is a holistic landscape and heritage regeneration initiative with projects in different parts of the world whose work he promotes globally.
Sammy's hobbies include writing and he contributes to a number of publications, including the Robb Report, on travel, lifestyle and Chinese and British culture. He also enjoys traveling, playing the Guqin, and occasionally, much to the horror of the audience, performs Peking Opera.
